Some places make me want to photograph everything. La Bastide du Vallon is one of them: this house in the South of France was completely built by hand (!) by my family-in-law. We try to visit a few times a year, and every time we do something about the light, garden and long afternoons makes me want to capture it all.
Midsummer Diaries started as a single story and became one of my personal favourite series. Not just because the place is beautiful, but because of what happens there. Unhurried days and the kinds of conversations that only seem possible when we're far from home, surrounded by people (& a cat called Plune) we love.
